Differing from better known tropical island groups in that there are no sprawling hotel complexes, neon lit discos, or imitation Irish bars, the Comoros islands have the type of remoteness that even international fugitives would love. Each island truly deserves the cliches that are often given to tropical archipelagos. Thankfully there are more palms, banana tress, and ylang ylang vines than concrete.
